ABOUT US

#FORTHEFANS is a campaign raising awareness and promoting the idea of fan-ownership within football clubs, allowing fans to have a say in important club issues.

OUR MISSION IN DEPTH

Redefining

Ownership

Our mission is to promote the idea of fan ownership within English football, allowing supporters to have a say on decisions and issues within their clubs.

Fan-ownership can occur in clubs in different ways. Firstly, a club may be minority fan-owned through the set up of Supporters' Trust, which work alongside private, and usually rich, investors.  Alternatively, clubs may be entirely fan owned, run by a trust of elected members, and maintained by a democratic membership. Finally, clubs may operate using the 50+1 model, which is seen in the German Bundesliga (Chandler, n.d.). All of these models allow fans to have an influence at their clubs, and allows their voices to be heard; an ideal we strive for in our campaign.

OUR MISSION IN DEPTH

How We Can

Achieve This

Promoting the use of our slogan and hashtag, ‘IT’S MORE THAN A BUSINESS.’ #FORTHEFANS, by not only online attention, but public attention through displays on posters around major cities and sporting arenas.

Aiming to encourage online conversations about fan ownership in football, spreading our message around the globe, as well as applying pressure to football owners to make a change.

Encouraging signatures to relevant petitions, in hope to raise the issue directly with the government and The FA, and put forward fan ownership rules and laws.
